We do Care About the Environment – Additional Information
We do whatever we can even if our possibilities are limited. But we undertake to make do without chemicals whenever possible and to use the least risky procedures. We want transparency, so we give to our customers every bit of information about the various products and their treatment. This way you can decide for yourself which product you can feel comfortable about environmental-wise.
Social Commitment
We demand fair working conditions from our suppliers and from ourselves. This includes not accepting child labour and it includes paying fair wages and providing good safety standards. We also wash the fabric before our employees start work on them to avoid health risks and we don’t use the risky sandblasting procedure.
Kind to Your Skin
Jeans are definitely not the real thing without authentic studs and buttons. So of course our jeans do have them. There are material certificates about these metals but anyway: Not one stud or button and no zip or buckle will touch your skin as they are all lined in soft material from the inside. This means there is no danger of pressure sores and no problems for sensitive or allergic skin.
Eco-Friendly
Jeans can never be produced without some environmental risks. We have to buy the denim when it is already dyed and bleached, as nobody wants untreated denim jeans nowadays. Therefore the only choice left to us is to choose between more or less questionable treatments of the fabric.
Our environmental impact rating system will help our customers to decide what they want and keep them informed about the amount of environmental strain caused by the different methods.
Washing and Finish
Obviously those fabrics with fewer washes are environmentally less questionable as less water and less chemicals are involved in the manufacturing process.
No matter how much we try to reduce the use of chemicals or at least insist on less aggressive ones – it will certainly always be best to avoid them as much as possible.
